PRS Limited Edition John Mayer "Dead Spec" Silver Sky Guitar
The PRS “Dead Spec” Silver Sky was designed for John Mayer’s prominent work with Dead & Company’s last tour. Paying homage to Jerry Garcia’s iconic “Alligator” guitar tones, the Dead Spec Silver Sky is a modded version of Mayer’s signature axe with significant spec changes.
Collaborating with John Mayer, PRS revamped the Silver Sky model into a
tribute to Jerry Garcia's famed guitar sound. It starts with a
lightweight swamp ash body that not only looks fantastic, but generates
the warm, woody resonance that defined vintage tones. Then they added a
modified hardtail bridge and strategic brass parts to further increase
sustain and richness.
- Custom swamp ash body inspired by vintage "Alligator" guitar
- Modified hardtail bridge and brass accents boost resonance
- Alembic preamp adds up to 14dB gain without muddiness
- Limited run of just 1,000 guitars
