Ibanez has taken the iconic Tube Screamer and reimagined it with an upgraded version of the flagship, hand-wired model. The company meticulously evaluated every component to preserve the pedal’s signature transparent, mid-range-focused tone.
After experimenting with several prototypes, Ibanez determined that the JRC NJM4558 op-amp was crucial to maintaining the Tube Screamer's legendary sound. This new design offers a broader range of tones, thanks to the inclusion of premium components like MOGAMI OFC cables, which enhance the advantages of the hand-wired build.
Additionally, a boost has been incorporated into the final stage of the circuit, raising the maximum output level by +6dB. The pedal’s design has also been refreshed, giving it a more high-end look while keeping its classic shape intact.
